The night began with two dark matches before a new format for TV tapings which will air in coming weeks on Channel 31 Melbourne & Geelong.
Sketch VS. Big Brodie Marshall—Marshall.
Fox VS. Matt “Grimm” Basso—Basso.
Interviewed in the ring by Scarlett Harris, Joey Ryan certainly lived up to his sleazy reputation before issuing a beat the clock “Sleaze Challenge” to the OCW competitor who gained the best time.
Beat the Clock Sleaze Challenge: Cadman VS. Syd Parker—time limit draw.
Beat the Clock Sleaze Challenge: Micky Jackson VS. JXT—double countout.
A distraction from Jacko Lantern’s ominous music caused Jackson to lose focus, costing both men the victory.
Beat the Clock Sleaze Challenge: Cletus VS. Big Brodie Marshall—Marshall at 4:45.
Beat the Clock Sleaze Challenge: Kellyanne VS. Vixsin—time limit draw.
Kellyanne entered herself into the Sleaze Challenge, which Vixsin answered, asking why the men should be the only wrestlers allowed to compete.
Beat the Clock Sleaze Challenge: Mohamad Ali Vaez VS. Josh “The Axe” Shooter—Shooter at 1:42.
Beat the Clock Sleaze Challenge: Matt “Grimm” Basso VS. Sketch—Basso at :09.
The second half of the night began with a grudge match between two men who’ve been feuding for the better part of the year, Andy Phoenix and Brad Smyth.
Andy Phoenix VS. Brad Smyth—Smyth.
A video message from Robbie E distracted Phoenix yet again, allowing Smyth to pick up the win. Furious at letting Robbie get the better of him, Phoenix destroyed the ringside area after the match.
No. 1 Contendership: Mohamad Ali Vaez VS. Maddog—Maddog.
Lying in wait for when OCW Heavyweight Championship Drew Galloway returns to defend his title, Maddog seems to keep attracting challengers to his No. 1 Contendership. This month, despite his unimpressive win-loss record, Vaez thought he could be the one to wrest the contendership from Maddog’s grasp, to no avail.
Tag Team Championship Handicap Street Fight: Adam Brooks VS. Slade & Wolfe—Slade & Wolfe.
Earlier in the week we saw the masked Slade and Wolfe jump KrackerJak at Luna Park, causing an injury that rendered one half of the tag team champions unable to defend his title. The other half of the Loose Bastards, Adam Brooks, was left to fend for himself, putting up an impressive (street) fight. The numbers game got the better of Brooksy, though, and it was Slade and Wolfe who left Ashwood with their newly won gold.
Matt “Grimm” Basso VS. Joey Ryan—Basso.
With an impressive victory over OCW’s international guest, who can stop Grimm in his impressive rise to the top?
It won’t be PJ Black, who finally makes his way to OCW in two weeks time at Carwatha College in Noble Park North where he will face Adam Brooks. Get your tickets now.
